To create a modern interior with historical references while preserving authenticity of the building. It was decided to convert a cellar into a separate room and to divide the entire space into several zones: a coffee house, a pastry shop, a bar and a summer patio.
The interior of the café was to emphasize the rich history of the building erected in 1795 in the first place. In the XIX century there was a bakery, a pharmacy and living rooms here. Katus Kalinovsky stayed here, too.
Therefore, the style was dictated by the building itself. Old masonry was found under a layer of plaster in the basement. Charms of the old brick were highlighted by wooden and wrought furniture made by the designer sketches and antiques in the décor of the ground floor and basement.
Reflecting surfaces (glass tops on wrought tables and a granite staircase) and lighting create a modern accent of the interior.
The building also obtained such atmospheric zones as a cellar for wine tasting and a cozy patio with a summer terrace.
Implementation of the project took a year and a half. The result is non-trivial space with a rich historical texture and modern design objects.we put the main task of highlighting the history of the building.
